Getting an opportunity to shoot a friends wedding is both exciting and stressful. There is always more pressure to make your friends and family happy as their expectations of you are normally set pretty high. I LOVE this type of pressure as it tends to make me grow in my abilities and I think that was the case in shooting my friend Kurt's wedding to his beautiful wife Arusyak. What a beautiful couple and location at Beckwith Pointe in New Rochelle NY. I'm sorry to hear that it may be closing soon.
What an amazing experience I had the privilege to have when I attended a graduation at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Raising, Training and Pairing these amazing creatures with their human counterparts is no easy task. It was not something I ever thought of and now I have such respect for all of the people involved at the various levels of this amazing journey. Wrangler is one very special Guide Dog as he was raised by a famous family. The Today Show took on the emotional weight of raising Wrangler as a pup for a year with the help of Saxon Eastman. Now grown up, Wrangler was trained for many months and has been paired with Bill Stevens a jazz pianist who will now enjoy the assistance of Wrangler by his side.

This photoshoot included one very incredible mommy. Katherine takes first prize for going above and beyond to make her daughter Bailey's one year birthday cake smash photos look amazing. Queen Bailey certainly enjoyed the power that was given to her and the cake was delicious. Everything you see in the photos below was made by Katherine....literally everything.
Melissa and Cory were nice enough to allow me the opportunity to photograph their beautiful daughter Madison. You can tell from the photos that she is an amazing girl with a great personality. It's hard not to get good photos with happiness like this.
I had a great time at Barton Orchards during their Balloon Festival. Even though the balloons couldn't go very far due to the weather it was a great day to watch the crowd enjoy the sites and sounds. The weather was overcast and windy out but I was able to incorporate a beautiful sky from another photo into the shot I took of the balloons that day.
I am so glad to be participating for my second year at the Michael Stern Classic 'Golfing for a Cure' event. I have become good friends with Michael and his wife Nicole and I fully support the work they do in raising money to fight cancer.
I LOVE photography in general but when I get to shoot special occasions for family and friends it has so much more meaning. Such is the case when I got to take these photos of Baby Ryan with my friends Jill and Nick. I am so happy for them and Ryan was a delight. I don't think I've been around such a laid back child before. Mommy and Daddy were not sure what to expect having only had Ryan home for a week. With grandparents by their side enjoying the shoot they couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I look forward to more of these experiences in my career.
I would like to thank Vlad of VPvisuals and John Muller of the Parsons School of Design for inviting Phil Roc Photography to the Petite Parade Kids Fashion week runway show at Spring Studios in NYC. I throughly enjoyed capturing photos of the children as they displayed fantastic designer clothing from BabyCZ, DIESEL, Chloe', IMOGA and many more. Richard Renda did an amazing job coaching the kids to walk down the runway properly and display the clothing in the best possible light for the cameras. I was squeezed at the end of the runway with 15 other photographs as we all tried to get the best possible photos. I would like to extend a special thank you to VPvisuals for inviting Phil Roc Photography to participate in a joint creative effort with Cheese Connoisseur magazine to create photos for their publication that will be available in late March 2016. One of the photos will be selected for the cover of the magazine which has previously featured such celebrities as Mario Batali, William Shatner and Masterchef Junior Season 1 winner Alexander Weiss.
The photos and article will focus on Adam Jay Moskowitz, the largest cheese importer in the United States and Hip Hop emcee ‘The Beat Poet’. Adam is an energetic, animated personality with decades of cheese knowledge to share. He is a third generation cheese monger and has taken the family business to the next level. It was a fantastic day taking photos of Adam and learning about his businesses ‘Larkin Cold Storage’ and ‘Columbia Cheese’ which includes a yearly cheese competition called ‘Cheesemonger Invitational’.
The cheeses were delicious, the education was enlightening and Adam’s personality came through in the photos. I can’t wait to share them with you when the magazine is published.
I can't begin to tell you how honored I was to be able to attend such a special event with such an amazing group of people. This was not your typical wedding....it was way better. Congratulations to Matt and Emmie !!!
I had a great time spending a few hours with Harper and her mom Susan during a newborn session. I have to admit that Newborn photography is more challenging than I expected and Harper was very patient with me. I learned a lot and I think in the end we were able to capture her angelic spirit. I look forward to doing this again soon. Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
